A biomechanical picking interface
Traditional flat picks rely almost entirely on friction. FingerBlade changes that by giving the thumb and index finger a physical control system built directly into the pick.
At the center are two Diamond Grip pads — one for the thumb and one for the index finger. These textured surfaces create tactile reference, grip, and indexing on both sides. The thumb side adds a thumb stop to prevent sliding and unwanted rotation, while the index side uses an index anchor and index lever to provide stability, control, and power.
Together, these features work as one balanced interface. FingerBlade keeps the familiar feel of a pick, but helps the hand stay connected with less wasted tension, less unwanted movement, and more precise micro-control at the string.


Rear interface: the index finger lever
The rear of the FingerBlade is defined by the index finger lever—the control surface that stabilizes the entire system.
This lever establishes mechanical advantage by anchoring the interface to the natural force path of the index finger. By doing so, it prevents rotation and drift without requiring increased grip pressure.
As string impact occurs, forces that would normally destabilize a flat pick are redirected through the lever and into the hand. Instability is converted into control and tactile feedback.
The result is a tool that remains precisely positioned under speed and aggressive attack, while allowing the hand to stay relaxed and neutral.


A closed mechanical system
The FingerBlade functions as a unified biomechanical system, applying physical principles to both sides of the interface to achieve true dynamic control.
At the front, engineered contact geometry stabilizes and aligns the thumb.
At the rear, the index finger lever provides the exact opposing force required for balance and leverage.
Together, these elements form a closed mechanical loop that converts string impact and motion into stability rather than loss of control.
By working with physics instead of against it, the FingerBlade unlocks a level of precision, dynamic range, and consistency that friction-based picks cannot achieve—providing measurable control with less effort and greater expressive freedom.
